Task Type Selector

Allows switching between the supported cleaning modes and navigation commands directly from the home screen.

When a task is currently active, the icons in the selector dynamically change to reflect the nature of the task. For example, if a scheduled room cleaning is running, a dedicated scheduled icon will appear instead of the standard room cleaning icon. This behavior similarly applies to scheduled global cleaning and shortcut routines, allowing the exact type of the active task to be instantly identified at a glance. The Task Type section in the Legend contains a complete list of icons.

Global Cleaning

This is the initial state of the card. While in this mode, a full cleaning cycle can be immediately started simply by pressing the Clean () button. The robot will clean all mapped rooms using their last saved cleaning settings and will strictly follow the predefined Cleaning Sequence.

Whenever the robot naturally completes a task, the Task Type Selector automatically resets back to this Global Cleaning state. However, if the cleaning is manually stopped via the card's Stop () button, the selector will remain in its last active state and will not automatically revert to Global Cleaning.

Additionally, this mode supports a quick transition to targeted cleaning: if a furniture item or carpet on the map is selected and its highlighted area is tapped again, the card will automatically generate a cleaning zone covering that item and instantly switch the active mode to Zone Cleaning, mirroring the behavior of the official app.

Room Cleaning

Allows selecting specific rooms for cleaning. Unlike other Home Assistant vacuum map cards, room selection is pixel-based rather than area-based, ensuring the card accurately identifies the exact room that is clicked on.

The actual cleaning order depends on the robot's capabilities: on supported models, the order is determined exactly by the sequence in which the rooms are tapped. On unsupported models, the card will fall back to the predefined Cleaning Sequence if one exists; otherwise, the robot will automatically decide the optimal route.

Once rooms are selected, their specific cleaning settings and repetition counts can be configured using the Action Buttons on the right, or the task can be immediately started using the previously saved settings by simply pressing the Clean () button.

Zone Cleaning

Allows drawing one or multiple resizable rectangles on the map for cleaning.

To add a new cleaning zone, there are several convenient options: anywhere on the floor area of the map can be clicked, the dedicated Action Button on the right side can be used, or an existing furniture or carpet can be directly tapped to automatically generate a zone containing it.

The execution order of multiple zones depends on the robot's capabilities: on supported models, the vacuum will clean the zones in the exact order they were added to the map. On unsupported models, the robot will automatically calculate an optimized route, typically cleaning the closest zone first before moving on to the farther ones.

Spot Cleaning

This mode is used to place one or multiple target points on the map, each defining the center of a fixed 1.5m x 1.5m square cleaning area.

A new target point can be added by clicking anywhere on the map or by using the dedicated Action Button. The card restricts the selection exclusively to valid floor areas; this prevents accidentally dropping a point on a wall or outside the map boundaries, which would otherwise cause the robot to instantly complain about unreachability and return to the dock.

Similar to the quick zone transition, specific obstacles can be quickly targeted: if an identified obstacle on the map is clicked and then the vacuum icon on the top-right of the obstacle popup is tapped, the card will automatically place a target point at that exact coordinate and instantly switch the active mode to Spot Cleaning.

Unofficial Feature

Spot cleaning is not officially supported by the app. Consequently, the robot will not provide voice feedback when started. Furthermore, it is highly uncertain how much longer this specific feature will remain available or functional on future generation devices and firmware updates.

Also, unlike the physical "Spot Cleaning" button which works without a map, this card's Spot Cleaning strictly relies on map coordinates, operating similarly to a Zone Cleaning task.

Go To Point

This mode is used to move the vacuum to a specific point on the map without engaging the suction motor.

To set a destination, anywhere on the map can be clicked or, if the device supports it, one of the predefined points configured under Saved Map Edit can be tapped. The card restricts target placement strictly to valid floor areas; this prevents accidentally dropping a point on an invalid location, which would otherwise result in the robot immediately cancelling the task at startup and returning to the dock.

On devices that support camera streaming, this action uses the native "cruising point" feature. On unsupported devices, it is simulated by creating a 10 cm² cleaning zone and stopping the robot upon arrival.

Hidden Action Buttons

Action Buttons are intentionally hidden in this mode to provide an unobstructed map view for selection. Switch to another mode to access them.
