Remote Control
This page is accessed via the Menu () on the Home Screen and provides options to remotely control the vacuum. The official app displays the remote control as a single directional pad restricted to moving forward or rotating in place without allowing combined movements. Unlike the official app, this card features two independent analog sliders providing simultaneous forward movement and steering with precise analog control over both speed and turning rate.
Rotating the screen to landscape mode on mobile devices snaps the sliders to the left and right edges. This ergonomic layout facilitates piloting the vacuum with two thumbs, similar to flying a drone. Furthermore, the sliders provide haptic vibration feedback on mobile devices. The center dead zone and activation thresholds deliver physical feedback, ensuring confident control of the robot without looking at the screen or lifting fingers.
Since the robot rotates on its own axis, its turning radius dynamically depends on its forward speed. Executing a sharp turn requires lowering the speed on the forward and backward slider.
Keyboard Controls
Clicking on the joystick activates the remote control and enables precise navigation via a keyboard:
W,Sor↑,↓: Move the vacuum forward and backward.A,Dor←,→: Rotate the vacuum left and right on its own axis.Shift: Hold this key while moving forward or backward to significantly reduce the speed for high-precision maneuvers.Ctrl: Hold this key while rotating to reduce the rotation speed for precise steering.
In addition to the controls, this page features a live map displaying the robot's real-time position for accurate navigation. A dynamic action button resides in the top right corner. Depending on the current state, this button immediately commands the robot to Resume () a paused cleaning task or Return () to its dock.
Moving Backward
Moving the vacuum backward carries a high risk. The official Dreame application deliberately omits a backward button because the robot features only a front bumper. Moving backward blindly prevents the vacuum from detecting collisions, potentially damaging the device or surrounding furniture. Exercise extreme caution when using this feature.
