Object Selection
This section covers the interactions and functions associated with selecting different objects on the map, including obstacles, carpets and furniture. The visibility and selectable state of these objects depend on the active task type.
Obstacles
Card provides the ability to view obstacles detected by the vacuum's AI camera and provided by the integration directly on the map.
Tapping on an obstacle on the map reveals a text bubble. Tapping this bubble opens a dialog containing the captured photo. The photo is displayed at its maximum possible size. On desktops, the dialog displays centrally over the card. On mobile devices, it docks to the bottom of the screen to prevent scrolling.
The Menu () icon in the top right of the dialog allows the raw photo (without the AI's bounding box) to be downloaded. On supported devices, the menu also includes options to ignore an obstacle or revert its ignored state. Clicking directly on the photo opens the framed version in a new browser tab with its original size.
Historical Map Limitations
- The obstacle selection is available on historical maps too, but obstacles from past cleaning sessions cannot be ignored.
- Newer devices store obstacle photos locally and do not retain historical images, whereas devices utilizing cloud storage retain them for 365 days.
TIP
The Obstacle section in the Legend contains a complete list of obstacle types and their corresponding icons.
Carpets
Provides options to override global carpet cleaning behaviors and apply dedicated settings to a specific carpet. This menu is accessible only while the Global Cleaning () task type is active. Tapping a carpet on the map and then the Settings () icon on the right side of the text bubble opens the menu.
The icons on the top right of the menu delete the carpet from the map or navigate to the Carpet Edit () interface.
- Customized Cleaning: Applies the configured custom settings exclusively to the selected carpet. Unlike the official app, which permanently locks a carpet into custom mode once modified, this card allows reverting to global settings by turning this switch off.
- Customized Preferences: On supported devices, assigns per-carpet behaviors, such as "Clean carpets first" or "Carpet boost". This feature requires Customized Cleaning to be active. Preferences are available only when they logically apply to the selected cleaning mode. For example, this option is disabled if the carpet is set to "Cross" or "Ignore".
- Carpet Type: Changes the carpet type on supported devices. Changing the type enables the customized cleaning switch and applies predefined cleaning settings for that specific carpet type.
- Shape: Defines the shape of the carpet on supported devices. This option is visible for manually added carpets and not available for automatically detected carpets or rooms defined with a carpet floor.
- Global Settings Link: Displays the currently active global carpet setting and navigates to the Global Carpet Settings page.
NOTE
Configuring per-carpet customized settings is only possible through this custom card, as the integration does not provide dedicated entities for individual carpets and standard Home Assistant dashboards lack a visual map-based carpet selector.
Furniture
Card provides the ability to select 2D/3D furniture from the map which are objects detected by the AI camera or manually added by the user.
While the Global Cleaning () task type is active, tapping on furniture reveals a text bubble. Tapping the furniture a second time generates a cleaning zone matching its dimensions and switches the active task type to Zone Cleaning ().
If the active task type is already set to Zone Cleaning (), tapping on furniture bypasses the text bubble and adds a clean area matching its size.
While the text bubble is open, clicking the Edit () icon on its right side navigates to the Furniture Edit () interface.
